Chemical isolates or reproductions of food based components. Basically the same as a pharmaceutical.

Highly concentrated food or herbal substances that feed the body critical vitamins, minerals and nutrients required for health, healing and balance. Ingredients are recognizable and can be found in grocery stores or markets around the world.
